Love people enough to tell them the truth and respect they can handle it.

Keep a journal.

Speak all of your hopes, dreams and desires out into the universe.

Be extremely grateful for everything good, bad or indifferent.

When you know better, you do better!

You have GOT to be ready for your blessing.

Don’t let stubbornness get in the way of intelligence.

Shame and Guilt are the most toxic emotions.

Shame=something wrong with who I am

Guilt=something wrong with what I’ve done.

Both set up defense behaviors.

Listen to YOUR whispers.

Look into every lesson.

Don’t let people talk you out of your feelings.

All forgiveness starts with the self first.

Stay strong.

Remain calm.

Exude positivity.

Are You Destined for GRAEtness?

December 7, 2011 Mind & Soul No Comments

We are all destined for greatness, it’s the ‘when part that drives us mad. I would love for all of us to practice extreme patience and to live with abundance, but it’s difficult at times to conceptualize.

The process of forgiveness – a learned life lesson

November 2, 2011 Mind & Soul 2 Comments

Simply put: To accept and let go of what has happened.

There is a shift in your spirit when you forgive. It frees up from all the anger held for so long. Do you really think the person or situation are as outraged as you? No! In fact, it’s the complete opposite. Anger and lack of forgiveness can and will consume your light. It instills bitterness and hurt in your heart and there isn’t any room for emotional growth. It creates thoughts that manifest into exaggeration which induce the rage from within. Wouldn’t you want to be free from such a thing that consumes your energy? Then, let go and accept what has happened.

God’s able if your willing!

pursue your passion and follow your dream: a writer’s tale

October 26, 2011 Mind & Soul No Comments

Currently, I am reading Adair Lara’s ‘Naked, Drunk and Writing’, which could be the most life changing powerful book I‘ve ever read within my 28 1/2 years of existence.

Reviewing the strikethroughs in that last sentence points out what the author describes in this writer’s guide for personal essay and memoir writing, as ’what not to do’ and that is to revise a beginning sentence way before ‘getting to the point’. She would however, applaud my epiphany in realizing that I am still aspiring to become a great writer rather than telling tales of being established one. The author considers lowering standards also known as humility, a way of kicking egos to the curb, which is very necessary at times.

Here is my point: knowing your passion is one thing, but pursuing it is a story.

Wait, wait, wait; let me reflect on this for a moment…

It’s not a story per say fiction, though you do go through variables and emotions similar to a character within a love story or suspense tale. I can best describe it as a memoir where you have an epiphany during a disheartening moment, complexities to overcome such as sacrifices and survival and finally a closing end that summarizes the great lengths it took to achieve your breakthrough. If you think about it, pursuing your passion can turn into a personal story and become very helpful for just about anybody looking for inspiration.

As you create a great closing end in pursuing your passion, remember everything takes time to develop no matter how big or small. It is evident that following your dream does lead to eternal satisfaction happiness—just look at the inspiration around you. Both faith in what you do and encouragement from others help you better understand why you’re pursuing this passion in the first place. And, I do not care what you say, but EVERY obstacle we encounter is specifically designed to bring our attention to much needed patience, humility and practice.

Although, I cannot tell you what to do, I will ask that you consider the great things pursuing your passion does to the soul. There is no restriction on how you can go about creating something beautiful, so do what it takes to follow your dream. Your passion can manifest into something beyond your control only if you let go and follow hope. Lastly, OPEN YOUR HEART and absorb all of the lessons, techniques and delicacies in order to be the best you can be. Believe in you and the rest is history in the making.

LIFE

September 21, 2011 Mind & Soul No Comments

“I’m not very good
At this Game called Life
For I’ve not learned to see children crying
Without feeling pain
For I’ve not learned to watch animals destroyed
Without wondering why
For I’ve not yet met a king or a celebrity
That I would bow down to
Or a man so insignificant
That I would use for a stepping-stone
For I’ve not learned to be a ‘yes man’
To narrow minded bosses
Who quote rules without reason
And I’ve not learned to manipulate
The feelings of others
To be used for my own advantages
Then cast aside as I see fit
No, I’m not very good
At this Game called Life
And if everything goes well
Maybe I never will be.”
