Let it Out! …tell ‘em how you really feel

September 15, 2009 Lifestyle, Mind & Soul 5 Comments

I love to be complimented. Most people do. Who doesn’t?

  • “Nice shoes!”  Thank you.
  • “You’re pretty!”  Thank you.
  • “You are doing a damn good job with those boys!”  Thank you.
  • “You are a model worker!”  Thank you.

I love the attention.  I enjoy being the life of the party.

SO…

Do you know why I want to cry sometimes?  I know it sounds Hollywood, but sometimes I feel so alone surrounded by a room full of people.  Even when all the people have gathered because of me!  I know I should be overjoyed at the attention. Sometimes, I just don’t know…I feel a lot of people don’t know me, the inside me.  I exude positive energies that draw people to me, although sometimes that’s not how I am feeling.  I think I purposely draw these crowds around me to mask how I really feel about myself.

I say I love myself, but sometimes I am not really sure.  It’s not low self-esteem, it’s just the little rare insecurities. I know that I have the looks (Owwww!) but I can always make improvements.  I know that I am…umm, well plus-sized. I have been on a diets most of my life, but dang on ditty, I dress my ass off!  Confidence is something that I don’t lack!  Well, at least you will never see that side of me.  I can always be better at my profession and I know that excelling at my craft takes time and experience.

I should just be happy and thankful!!  I can pay my own bills without hesitation or help.  My children and I are healthy.  I’m proud of myself because I know that I have come a long way!  And you know what? I am going to be just fine! I know that other people walk in the same shoes, once in a while. I just needed to vent…ha!

interestingly enough..I can identify w/some of this..I don’t lack self esteem..however..it’s always a wonder to me though that when u look a certain way and you carry yourself a certain way..people think that your invincible..and some even believe you don’t have the right to ‘down’ days…but, we are all human no matter the package…and we are subject to humanity and the feelings up or down that come with.

I am quite the attention grabber myself… i exude positive energy but yet i describe myself as shy.
Oxymoron but it is what it is.
Keep your head up and know that positive things come to those who think positively and surround themselves with positive people.
    And i LOVE your quote!!!!

Thank you for reading and responding to my article.
    I am a truly a social butterfly.
If you conversed with me, you would never know that I had or needed a ‘down’ day…but yes, everyone is entitled to them! They help you to focus and readjust.
Again I thank you for your opinions.
