Life, Love, Soul – A film by Noel Calloway: Tania On the Scene
Hey! It’s TaniaOnTheScene.com at the pre-screening of @LifeLoveSoul directed by Noel Calloway.
The film is set to hit AMC LOEWS theaters April 13th, 2012… but of course, yours truly had the honor of seeing it last night.
First off, I want to say that the director, Noel Calloway, (seen above) was on hand to introduce the film, and also stayed after to answer questions. I appreciated that.
Moving forward, I have to say that I had the preconceived idea that the movie wouldn’t be worth my time. “I’m over the typical, black movies. They’re overrated.”
Well, to my surprise, this film blew me away.
The movie touched on every emotion. I was angry, sad, happy, laughing, shocked… etc.
What is the movie about? It’s a story of a young man who loses everything and triumphantly finds himself faced with two life altering circumstances.
Another thing that I appreciated about this film is the fact that “Denzel Washington” wasn’t attached to it.
Wait, don’t get me wrong, I love me some Denzel, but I like watching movies that don’t have major players in it. You go in with a clear mind and end up amazed at the talent.
You WILL, however, see some familiar faces: Jamie Hector (The Wire), Chad L. Coleman (The Wire), Terri J. Vaughn (The Steve Harvey Show), Tami Roman (Basketball Wives), Valerie Simpson (of Ashford and Simpson), Egypt Sherrod (radio personality, WBLS)… among others.
I had the chance to interview Noel and learn more about his film, you can check it out here:
Noel’s film will released in several major markets. Check below to see where Life, Love, Soul will be shown in your town.
